CAMP, INC. RECEIVES $22.4 MILLION INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) DONATION FROM THE LUBRIZOL CORPORATION

CLEVELAND, OHIO, March 12, 2002 --- The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ) today presented CAMP, Inc. with a major intellectual property donation, valued at $22.4 million. The donation, which includes 17 separate United States technology patents and related know-how for intelligent fluids, systems and related software, will be used to develop new manufacturing companies in Northeast Ohio.

"We are excited about the possibilities that this infusion of new technologies will bring to the creation of new companies in Northeast Ohio, and we are pleased that Lubrizol has chosen CAMP to commercialize these assets," said Dr. Stephen J. Gage, CAMP President.

The announcement was made at CAMP's Manufacturing and Technology Complex (CMTC), which will be home to the donated Lubrizol technologies. "Of the universities and organizations considered for donation, CAMP presented the most compelling and complete proposal to effectively use Lubrizol's intellectual property package to create new jobs and value in the region," said Charles Cooley, CFO of Lubrizol. "CAMP is unique in that, in addition to providing support to existing manufacturing companies, they are committed to forming and nurturing new, start-up enterprises. This CAMP facility can serve as an incubator for companies with the potential to provide economic growth for today and tomorrow."

Mayor Jane Campbell welcomed the announcement. "To build a viable future for the City of Cleveland and the region, we must build upon our assets. For Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, that means manufacturing. This gift of technologies to CAMP from Lubrizol is one way that we will do that." In addition to Mayor Campbell, Thomas A. Waltermire, President and CEO of PolyOne and Chairman of NORTECH, and Edward W. (Ned) Hill, Professor of Urban Studies at Cleveland State were also at the announcement, and pledged their support to this technology transfer.

Currently, CAMP is helping launch 10 new manufacturing and technology companies. Some of the companies are building businesses utilizing technologies developed in Russia, China, Canada and Israel. CAMP provides start-up manufacturing companies with the office space, funding, product/part design, prototyping, machining and business planning -- all located within the CMTC facility.
