Teaching Employees the Company’s “Elevator Speech”

CHALLENGE

Bayer wanted to encourage employees in one division to be brand ambassadors for the company.  Management sought to replace printed “elevator speech” booklets with a more engaging, easy-to-update and cost-effective solution.

ACTIONS

SPI Group created a fun, interactive intranet site to give these employees the information they needed to tell the company’s story internally and externally.  This site

  • had the look and feel of an elevator by opening to a lounge, lobby, news stand, directory and 19 elevator “floors” – each offering a snippet of content about Bayer.
  • featured interactive games (word search, crossword, puzzle slider and matching game) tied to facts about the company.
  • gave elevator speech tips, fun facts about the company and information on Bayer research and products.

RESULTS

The site won “Best in Show” from NJ PRSA and was a Ragan Communications finalist for “Best Intranet Site.”
